Isle of Wight – Lavender
October 20, 2012If you’ve never been to the Isle of Wight and are ever nearby (i.e. in Southern England), give it a visit. A weekend is more than enough time to see it, and of course, go in Summer! Within a 30 minute period, one can drive across the island… π Aside from the beautiful beaches I highly recommend a visit The Garlic Farm, and to the Lavender Farm.
Have a great week π

April 29, 2012There’s been a pleasant spike in visitors recently for which I’m really grateful for. I try to visit the blogs of everyone that leaves a like or comment but, sometimes the likes don’t have links…. Thank you to everyone that visits, and to those that leave Β a like or comment, it’s very much appreciated.
After a recent slump today I got back into taking some photos… a new batch… and still a few more ideas to work through next weekend. I tend to do batch photograph, then process them and have a few months worth. Right… right, it’s not ‘right’ but, it works for me… that way I can dedicate some time when I have it… and relax when I don’t.

Waterfall
January 29, 2012This is a strange photo for me. It’s a waterfall that I photographed and posted when I started this blog but back then I processed it in black and white. This time I’m leaving it in colour and that, for me, is strange. A friend of mine recently bought a new camera so I took him to this park to get to know his camera better. Waterfall photography, I believe is perfect for learning about ISO, Aperture and all the things I’ve yet to read about in a book π
As always, have a great weekend.. π

Joshua in St James Park
December 11, 2011A rarity, a post schedule two weeks in advance. π This photo was taken two weeks ago in St. James Park, London. The day was particularly breezy and lots of leaves made for great shots of leaf fights. This though, a non-leaf fight photo was one of my favourites. Joshua decided to wander out of the main photo and I managed to grab a shot of him standing still (another rarity). π

The Woods
December 4, 2011As this post goes live (I schedule in advance), I’ll be up in the air on my way to South Korea, for work. It’s my first trip there and I’m honestly slightly nervous! All I’m waiting for is to come back to my wife and kids. The good thing about the trip is that it’s left me with less time and that’s caused me to work flat out to finish the bathrooom. So, almost all wall tiles are now in place and the grouting is done π Only four left to go (they need some cutting) and 20 floor tiles left and then it’s pretty much completed and that, I hope will leave me in a position to relax during Christmas. Luckily I’d completed the present shopping last month so, nothing to worry about there π I seem to have less and less time these days which is why I tend to go through a week of blogs on a Sunday night. So, forgive me if I don’t comment on any blogs this upcoming week but I’ll do my best to catch up as soon as I can. π
This week has been busy, 1 birthday, 1 child’s Christmas play and 1 wedding anniversary!
The photo below was taken two weeks ago. The sunlight was wonderful that day (especially considering it’s November) and I managed to get some great family photos… and those have now been put into this year’s photobooks… perfect presents for grandparents.
Have a great week π

Good bye to going Out
November 6, 2011Prior to having kids my weekends were generally spent playing on the XBOX, eating and watching films; I liked that a lot. After the kids were born that changed as I wanted to not raise them to be couch potatoes. π
From March 17th to November 6th we tend to go out almost every weekend and after that it’s time for me to work on other projects. So, why those dates? Well.. those are the dates that the Merlin owned Theme Parks in the UK are open and by Theme Β parks I really mean… Legoland Windsor.
Now that’s passed it’s time for me to finish restoring our bathroom, finish making the children’s DVDs with all the stuff I’ve recorded on the camcorder over the last 5 years, play the keyboard and actually do some more experimental photography. BUT first.. I need to sort out the 2000 photos I’ve taken with my pocket camera over the past year π¦ Imported to lightroom last night, now I need to tag, clear the rubbish out, ‘enhance’… I really should have done it throughout the year… oh well, better get that done so I can do the annual photobooks. π
Before you go, if you like stop motion photography (or jellybeans) check out this incredible video on Taylor’s blog, ‘What’s Normality anyways’
