I am not here so I scheduled this post… hope you like it… πŸ˜‰

By the way, I think Harry would win… what do you think?

Have a great week πŸ™‚

Lego – Magic

June 24, 2012

Another Lego shot… I would write more but I really want to watch England’s Quarter final football game… I dare say it’s the last game for them this tournament…

Anyway, have Β a great week πŸ™‚

Lego – Board

June 10, 2012

How lovely a week off from work is, how sad it is to go back, but, of course, it’s those months at work that pays for me to be off for a week… damn..

On to the photo, something different from me. I’d been wanting to do a ‘toy’ photo for quite a while but needed to really have a concept. To me a toy photo should be clean, and unusual. Hopefully the photo below achieves both of these.

Have Β a great week πŸ™‚

May 27, 2012

Apparently this is my 200th post… that’s quite something πŸ™‚ – GO ME!

To all of you who comment, like and follow… Thank you πŸ™‚

March 11, 2012

Today was the first day that actually felt like March, warm weather, beautiful blue sky. So pleasant and a good change from the recent old spell. The daffodils and tulip bulbs that I planted have started to bloom and the tulips and crocuses are getting ready to wake up. Now it’s time for me to cover the place in wildflowers. This is a big deal for me because it’s the first time I’ve tried to grow flowers from scratch, rather than buy and plant … plants.

and, now, onto something that has absolutely nothing to do with flowers…

Have a great week πŸ™‚

Merry Christmas

December 24, 2011

So, the kids are tucked up in bed awaiting Santa Claus and finally asleep, the presents are wrappedΒ and I’m now watching Gremlins and posting my Christmas blog. πŸ™‚ To me, the best Christmas photos involve lights, and Christmas lights tends to lead to beautiful bokeh shots. That being the case, here’s my contribution to this year’s collection of such photographs πŸ˜€

I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and hope you all have an enjoyable, safe and relaxing one. I hope that Santa brings you whatever you are wanting and that you don’t spend too much in the post Christmas sales πŸ™‚

As always, have a great week πŸ™‚

The Light Family

November 27, 2011

The last of my fun experimental photographs taken at the cottage during my earlier break with friends. Thanks to Steve for posing for these whilst I painted. These were done when we’d finished everything else we wanted to create and were bored late on the last night we were there. The car was done after all the people when I was still bored πŸ™‚

Have a great week πŸ™‚

Lego Halloween

October 31, 2011

As requested with a rare second post in a week, here is the Lego Skeleton along with some friends the kids and I made. The bat, pumpkin and ghost kits were picked up at Legoland Windsor. πŸ˜‰

Happy Halloween…

The Actual Light Fight

October 2, 2011

Last week’s post was entitled ‘Light Fight’ but, as some of you may have realised there was light, but no fight. The reason was that I was intending to post the photos shown below but… didn’t, and then subsequently forgot to change the title.

The photos below were taken in the pitch black when we were in Kent. I’d thought about them before hand and then was pleased to have so much fun creating them. Maybe next time we’ll get costumes πŸ™‚

So, Ammar (left) and Steve (right) having a thunderbolt fight, followed by Steve breathing fire…

The camera in each case was set to bulb mode. The guys got into position and held still in the pitch black. I then painted them with a 5 million candle powered torch, and finally ran over with my LED lights and then painted the fighting lights for each of them. Since I was moving fairly quickly and wasn’t lit, I thus don’t appear in the photograph at all.

Hope you guys enjoy these.

Have a great week… πŸ™‚

Light Fight

September 25, 2011

So, before I went away, I had a few ideas of experimental photographs that I wanted to try in the darkness… and this was one… kind off πŸ™‚ On the first night, we decided to try and make an orb. A lot of different attempts finally resulted in the very first photo. Well done to Steven for perfecting it. πŸ™‚ The other photos were some outdoor swinging of fairy light fun that he, Ammar and I had. Sadly after we got back I remembered that we forgot to paint the outdoor scene with a torch. If I’d done that our orb would have been ‘on’ something, rather than just in the black!

If you’re interested in the orbs, check out Evan’s excellentΒ Photo Extremist blog.

Have a great week πŸ™‚
