Hyper Japan 2014

November 23, 2014

I almost exclusively now post all my photos to my GreySqrl Facebook Page but I figured that since Hyper Japan would good enough to give me a press pass, I’d return the favour as best I can. So, in case you don’t know, Hyper Japan is THE place to go if you’re interested in any way in Japanese culture. Over three days (twice a year) you can enjoy Japanese food, buy Japanese products, buy Japanese clothes, buy a flight to Japan, play excllent games, try your feet at Dance, Dance Revolution, enjoy a spot of Karate, participate in a Karaoke competition and last and in no way least… see some truly amazing Cosplayers.

Oh.. and POCKY! Lots of Pocky.

Photos below are from Hyper Japan’s 2014 Christmas Market that was held at London’s Olympia. If you missed it, don’t worry Hyper Japan is back in 2015.

If you’d like to follow my work… please head to and like the page.

Two awesome Cosplayers that I was lucky enough to be able to photograph.

Leanne –

Yas –

Another two great cosplayers, who again were good enough to pose for photographs.

Alex –

Ronnie –

Even more great Cosplayers… 🙂

So, now you’ve seen the photos, head over to their website to book tickets for their next event.

February 17, 2013

My first post in quite a while… and something based very much on another idea I saw elsewhere… sadly I forget where. The good thing about this photo is that it taught me that I don’t actually hate Oreos after all.

Since it’s been so long, hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year! 🙂

December 16, 2012

I’m getting bored of this photoblogging thing… I’m scraping the barrel of photos I’ve taken over the year for posting and I’m soon going to run out. I’ve got a lot of new ideas but very little time (or enthusiasm) for taking more shots. I’m hoping that I’ll feel inspired to take new shots over the short Christmas break.

As always thanks to all of you who always comment, like and visit without fail, your support is much appreciated as are the awesome posts on your own blogs!

It’s an over-saturated butterfly… The End 🙂

November 4, 2012

It’s been good having a week off work, although I extended that to a week off from running and a week off from posting… (mainly because when I remembered, I couldn’t be bothered) 🙂

Here’s a macro shot of a lemon juicer…

Isle of Wight – Lavender

October 20, 2012

If you’ve never been to the Isle of Wight and are ever nearby (i.e. in Southern England), give it a visit. A weekend is more than enough time to see it, and of course, go in Summer! Within a 30 minute period, one can drive across the island… 🙂 Aside from the beautiful beaches I highly recommend a visit The Garlic Farm, and to the Lavender Farm.

Have a great week 🙂

Somewhat flat oranges… but, they tasted good.

One of the greatest things about food/drink photography is eating the model… 😀

So, I know, this isn’t the greatest photo in the world and didn’t exactly turn out as I wanted to… but, hey, I got 4th place in the refreshing comp with this, 2nd with the lemonade collage and 1st with the previous ice and a slice 7up free post so.. what the heck, thought I’d post it anyway…

For anyone else that is trying to quit high sugar drinks but misses the fizz… here’s a recommendation, sparking water (the cheap stuff from your supermarket is fine) and a little bit of squash… works a treat. 🙂

A wheel… from where I don’t know…

September 23, 2012

Yes! It’s a wheel, but, I have no recollection where I photographed this. Maybe Brighton???

That’s about it.. I have nothing else of interest to write here…

Have a great week. 🙂

Ice and a slice

September 16, 2012

This photo was taken for a ‘Refreshing’ themed competition… a glass of 7 up (free), a lovely slice of lime, lots of ice and sprig of mint. Taken with a macro lens and the contrast boosted to make it pop…

Have a great week 🙂
